Community
Part of the mission of St. Joseph's of Stratford is to reach out to our town and its citizens and to worthy and charitable organizations with service and support. We cannot possibly be all things to all people. However, by working in cooperation with members and groups in our community we are able to accomplish so much more than we can as a single church. To work with others is in keeping with the principles and the creed of the National Catholic Church. God created the world and all of the people in it. He commands us to love Him and to love one another. He sent His Son into the world not to judge it, but to save it, and to show us how to live in it. We believe the Church is the Body of Christ on this earth and as members of it we are to build up His kingdom here on earth. Evidence of His kingdom is found when the love, faith, hope, peace and justice (or mercy) that we show and share takes root and grows. St. Joseph's Parish is committed to make a better place for the people who live in this part of the world: Stratford, the Greater Bridgeport area, Fairfield and New Haven counties. We are youth-oriented and community-minded. Therefore, we have chosen to work with or to support the following groups and organizations in the ways described below:
